if you live right in the center you have the chance for a dance in the old council square at your wedding . and everybody can admire the bride ... and make fun of your party ... or take pictures (like me but i wasn't the only one)

doesn't really look like it but yes it's brasov . a special house with vine on a quiet street . charming brasov that you have to discover . every city has little treasures that tourists and most of the locals don't know about . what makes a trip , a holiday , a visit to a place ? what do you get from traveling to different places ? i think you have to put your heart into it . you have to "give" yourself to a place and allow it to fill your senses and your memories . you can't just thick spots on a map , names on a list , it doesn't mean anything . you have to take it personal ...

yes i know that everybody can recognize veggies but me , i like all the colors and shapes and when i see so many i have to call the names , it's like "wow!" ... hehehe

harvest day 2

today is about fruits . apples , grapes , plums , melons , these are the fruits in season in september-october . it really depends on many things (season , quality , imported) but back then the prices were 2 lei (aprox 0.60 euros / aprox 0.80 $) for a kg of apples or grapes .

it's all about meat ... pork ... all kinds of hams , salami , sausages ... different sizes and shapes , smoked or not .

how about some mutton ?

or maybe the traditional "mici" or "mititei" (literally means "smalls") some kind of romanian hamburgers but in the shape of a small sausage ... or some steaks or sausages ?

and you gonna need something to drink . beer , wine , must of grapes (unfermented wine) ?

harvest day 1

first weekend in october is harvest day , a good time to visit the market for fresh fruits and veggies or just for some pictures . like me . everything in season is on display and is hard to resist ... so many colors , textures , forms , shapes , sizes , smells . decorations , street food , street drinks , smoke , sounds ... many people and everybody is more polite . why can't it be harvest day everyday ?

this is a general view , tomorrow we go into details ...

first snow

it was like this until today .

today we had the first snow this winter . 11-22-2008 one month later than last year (10-21-2007) but still too early for me ... hehehe

so now we have 20 cm of snow in brasov . winter is here . one month till christmas ... aarghhhhh !

the long and boring road

the "new" calea bucuresti (bucharest road) from both sides . after extensive work they changed everything , road (added 2 lanes) , sidewalks , public lighting , parkings , bus stops and so on . i guess it's better now but it's boring , no more trees just asphalt and ugly apartment buildings .

i remembered this song watching the new episode of "cold case" . love the show for bringing back beautiful songs .

after 16 months of pain I thought I’m finally over it . moved on in a way . the last 3 months were ok , empty , hollow but better . everything was somewhere deep , hidden somehow in my soul and in my mind . i knew i still have it but it wasn’t on the surface and the pain was different , easier to bear . you have to let it go and move on … everybody is telling you the same . and it works in time even if in the beginning you don’t believe it . it works only if you stay away . if you really want to forget you have to stay away . but last night i saw that just a little sign can bring back the feelings so fast you don’t even have time to prepare for the pain . it wasn’t so bad , just a moment of weakness and i was able to control it but i can’t afford it anymore . if you have to forget you have to do it all the way through .

surprise trip to Sighisoara

long way (120 km) short stay

no time to take pictures and anyway the batteries in my camera ran out after only 5 or 6 pictures

all in all quite disappointing

but if the time is right Sighisoara could make a very nice day trip with some great picture taking opportunities(great medieval places)
