the rope street

this is one of the most important attractions in brasov . it links the "poarta schei" street to "cerbului" street . is said to be the narrowest street in europe . definitely the narrowest in romania . it is 80 meters long and between 111 - 135 cm wide . it was mentioned in official documents in the 17th century and originaly was an access route in case of fire . newly renovated in 2003 . very romantic in the evening and a great place to take pictures .
oh , i sound so touristic . you may say that i actually love this town ... hahaha ... but it's not that simple .

Do people get stuck in the exit? I would have a hard time getting through that narrow opening, for sure!

RO, that is so cool. I mean, what an awesome set of pics, and what a cool story. I can't imagine the history your city is soaked in. I know you are not always in love with Brasov, but you have to admit, the city has been there a long time, it has survived! Bravo Brasov!
Thanks,
Wayne

Foarte frumos. Am crezut cand am vazut poza ca a fost Sibiu - este ceva casi asta si acolo.

I'm thinking the same as Barbara - a few bruised elbows for some folk

A few bruised elbows and hips! ;D

I'd like that to be the entrance to my building! Wouldn't that be great? :)

What an interesting little street. Now I know why you compare Brasov with Toruń!! Lovely place!
