15 nov 1987

20 years ago , on november 15 1987 something happened in brasov . the first anti-communist revolt in romania , two years before the anti-communist revolutions that changed the face of europe in 1989. ten thousand people gathered in front of this building - the brasov county council and had the courage to say what everybody wanted to say in romania : we had enough ! it's hard to understand how it was to live under communism in eastern europe if you didn't have the "chance" .
20 years ... i can still remember what i was doing that day ... but it's long gone and now , almost everybody doesn't have the time to care .

Thats a beautiful building. 20 years ago, that seems like so long ago, but it feels like yesterday.

RO, that's very touching. Yes, it is a nice photo, but the message you posted with it really makes it much more than just a photo. We must be thankful (after all, here in the US, Thanksgiving is just around the corner) for those people before us who DID care, and acted for a better world.

I'd like to think there are still many people out there who care enough to do something if things get too, too bad. But just how bad is that?
Thanks.

Amazing piece of history. Similar things happened here in Poland.

Yes, a beautiful photo and a great commemoration. Everybody talks about Timisoara but yes, you guys said it even earlier.

(Imi pare rau, sunt prea obosita sa scriu foarte mult in limba romana! Maine, sper ca o sa scriu mai mult :) )
